| Summary |
Exterior view of the Grand Imperial Hotel, in
Silverton, Colorado, looking west; shows storefronts with inset doors,
pilasters with acanthus capitals, stepped semicircular arches over
the second floor sash windows, mansard roof, chimneys and dormers
with their jigsaw-worked bases, and arched sash windows and the brackets
under the eaves. Curtains hang behind many of the storefront windows.
An oval, painted sign projecting over the entrance held by a cable
reads: The Grand Imperial. Lettering in the transom over the door
on the right reads: Dining Room. The curb next to the concrete sidewalk
has stenciling: Hotel Parking. A one-story building to the left has
a Willys 'Woody' and 1950's Volvo parked by it; Sultan and Grand Turk
Mountains are in the upper left meeting a sky dotted with cumulus
clouds. |
