Title   William F. Cody with group
Call Number   NS-14
Summary   William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody stands in the center of the back row of a group portrait in a studio. Sitting in front of Cody is Hunkpapa Sioux Chief Sitting Bull, who toured with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in 1885. The others in the portrait include, from left, William Halsey (Sitting Bull's interpreter), Crow Eagle, young Johnny Baker (later known as the "Cowboy Kid" in the Wild West Show and foster son to Cody) and Adirondack (a naturalist). Both Sitting Bull and Crow Eagle wear feather headdresses. Cody wears an embroidered shirt and scarf and holds his hat, probably a Stetson, in his left hand. He wears thigh boots and his belt has a large, square buckle. Adirondack holds a cane in his left hand. Baker holds his hat in his lap. A straw fan is propped against Sitting Bull's right leg.
