Title   Electric search light
Call Number   NS-637
Summary   A man stands next to an electric search light used to spotlight performers during Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show at Ambrose Park in Brooklyn, New York. The man wears a straw hat and suit. Three search lights were mounted on a platform above the grandstand canvas opposite the scenic backdrop. One of the most important functions of the search lights was to highlight glass ball targets in the air as star performers, such as William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody and Phoebe Anne "Annie Oakley" Moses, attempted to shoot them down. The lights also allowed the audience to see the glass balls break after being shot.
