Oxen eat from a line of hay crossing the dirt thoroughfare; men and barrels are on the tree lined boardwalk. Frame and brick commercial buildings are in the background. Signs read: "City Bakery," "Alling & Co. Hardware," "[?] Steel & Stoves," and "[?]inery."
