  Typewritten note that accompanies print reads: "Photo of Dr. James Underhill (man in center with goatee and black cloth and leather cap), longtime resident of Idaho Springs and professor at Colorado School of Mines. The group is probably in the Mines Experimental Mine at Idaho Springs. From Dr. Underhill's appearance, photo was probably taken in the 20's. The mine is not a placer mine."
