| Summary |
Men in suits and men in vests with hats sit at
three gaming tables in a saloon backroom in Leadville, Colorado. Stacks
of poker chips and a roulette wheel sit on tables. Several men gather
at the bar room door. A saloonkeeper with a long white apron and jacket
carries a tray of glasses. A cast iron stove with a pipe is in the
center foreground. On the ceiling and above the wainscoting is Victorian
wallpaper with framed paintings hanging out from the walls on wires
on nails. Coats are piled on top of wooden cabinets against the far
wall and a step ladder is in the left corner. Slot machines are through
the door to the bar. A spittoon and wood stools are under the roulette
table and the wooden floor is soiled. Hanging electric lights with
broad shades light gaming tables; a central chandelier with tulip
glass shades provides general lighting. |
