Summary Crowds watch a fireman climb a ladder on Washington Avenue in Golden, Jefferson County, Colorado. Outfits include felt, bowler, or stiffened straw hats, and bonnets with flowers. Commercial buildings are decorated with evergreens, bunting, United States flags and a British Union Jack. Business signs read: "Osborne, C. O. D." "W. Dougherty," and "Hammond & Braun."
